As Adams + Miles celebrates its centennial, our leadership team has had the chance to reflect on what it means to steward a fast-growing accounting and financial advisory firm.
Certainly, it’s about continuing to serve our clients, helping them navigate challenges, identify opportunities and achieve their financial and business goals. But beyond that, one of the most rewarding aspects of building a professional services firm is watching the people around you grow.
Over the past century, Adams + Miles has evolved considerably. We’ve welcomed new generations of professionals, expanded our services, acquired firms embraced new technologies and continually adapted to the changing needs of our clients. Our centennial year has brought a great deal of positive change across the firm, and we’re excited to see what comes next.
That progress is only possible because of the people who comprise our team. Developing talented professionals, giving them opportunities to take on greater responsibility and supporting them as they build their careers is an important part of our ongoing growth—and our commitment to delivering outstanding accounting and financial advisory services to our clients.
This year, we’re pleased to recognize several members of our team who have taken the next steps in their careers with Adams + Miles.
A second generation of the Kozikowski family moves up the ranks
One promotion that is particularly meaningful to all of us is that of Michael Kozikowski, whose title recently changed from Supervisor to Manager. Michael’s story with Adams + Miles is a little different from most. In fact, his connection to the firm began long before he became an employee.
His father, Peter, joined Adams + Miles nearly 30 years ago and continues his successful career with the firm. In fact, Peter is one of our longest-serving team members, developing deep relationships with clients and playing an important role on our accounting team. In the early days, a toddler-aged Michael would spend time around the office helping his dad. So, in a sense, the younger Kozikowski has been part of the Adams + Miles family for most of his life.
I still remember giving Michael small jobs around the office. He would do photocopying for me and earn a few dollars at a time. I don’t think any of us imagined then that, years later, we’d be celebrating his promotion to Manager.
It’s especially rewarding to see two generations of the Kozikowski family build their careers with Adams + Miles. Peter’s long tenure with the firm and Michael’s continued progression are a wonderful reflection of the long-term relationships that are such an important part of our culture.
I’m incredibly proud of Michael and look forward to seeing him continue to develop as a leader and trusted advisor to our clients.
Recognizing growth in our Condominium practice
At the same time, we’re pleased to welcome Kelly Tubera back to Adams + Miles as a Manager in our Condominium practice.
Over the years, we’ve had a number of talented people leave the firm to pursue other opportunities and, ultimately, find their way back to Adams + Miles. We view that as a tremendous endorsement of the culture we’ve worked so hard to nurture. Kelly brings valuable experience to her role, and we’re delighted to have her back as part of our team. Her return is another example of the relationships that can extend well beyond someone’s tenure in a particular role and of the lasting connection people have across our firm.
We’re also recognizing a well-deserved promotion within our Condominium group.
Theva Thirugnanam has been promoted to Senior Condominium Auditor. The condominium sector has unique accounting, reporting and compliance requirements, and serving these clients effectively requires both technical knowledge and an understanding of the organizations and people behind the numbers. Theva’s promotion reflects the expertise he brings to the firm and the confidence we have in his ability to continue delivering outstanding service to our condominium clients.
Looking ahead
One of the great privileges of being part of a firm with a 100-year history is understanding that an organization is ultimately built one person, one client and one relationship at a time. Our history gives us a strong foundation, but our future will be shaped by the people who are here today—and by the people who will join us tomorrow.
Michael, Kelly and Theva each represent a different part of that future. Their promotions reflect their individual accomplishments, but they also demonstrate something notable about Adams + Miles: we remain committed to creating an environment where talented people can build meaningful, long-term careers.
As we celebrate a milestone anniversary, there’s plenty to be proud of. Congratulations to all three on these well-deserved achievements. We’re fortunate to have you as part of the Adams + Miles team, and I look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years ahead.
