Condominium Audits and Consulting
Your Partner in Building Stronger Condo Communities
Delivering quality financial insights to condominium stakeholders
Our personalized condominium audit and consulting services are designed to help your condominium board of directors meet legislative requirements, while optimizing audit efficiencies. Our dedicated group of condominium partners and managers are committed to providing you with effective, proactive advice and communications—powered by secure online file sharing technology—to enhance your decision-making processes.
With one of the largest condominium practices in Ontario—completing more than 550 condominium audits each year—our dedicated team of chartered professional accountants has extensive experience evaluating accounting and internal control systems for a wide range of property management firms. That expertise includes everything from advising on corporate fund controls and reciprocal agreements to delivering operating and reserve expenditure opinions and addressing developer-related first year financial issues.
Streamlining the condominium audit experience
For more than two decades, our dedicated condominium team has delivered a unique audit experience that delivers accurate draft financial statements to condominium boards for efficient review and approval. This provides your condominium board with added flexibility to schedule annual general meeting dates and to communicate financial information in a way that helps unit owners understand operating costs and the financial health of their communities.
Our condominium audit expertise has resulted in requests for our team to serve as expert witnesses in cost disputes between condominium corporations and municipalities, to provide opinion letters to condominium corporations on the applicability of HST on specific revenues, and to participate in investigations into the recovery of misappropriated condominium funds.
To give back to the community and to stay a step ahead of ongoing changes to the Ontario Condominium Act (1998), we actively participate in several condominium-related groups and committees including:
- Stakeholders Group and Experts Panel that provides advice to the Ontario Government on recent legislative amendments to the Condominium Act
- Chair of the committee responsible for the Audit, Accounting and Tax Guidelines for Ontario Condominium Corporations, published by Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario
- Active board members of the Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI) in Toronto and nationally
- Members of the Associates and Certification and Standards Committees of the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO)
- Presenters at the annual ACMO-CCI Condominium Conference and at Director seminars and manager lunch-and-learn programs
