Celebrating a
Century-Long Journey

In 2026, Adams + Miles marks a rare and meaningful milestone: 100 years of continuous service to our clients, communities and industry partners.

An archive of our centennial

What began in 1926 with the merger of two small accounting practices has grown into a trusted advisory firm serving mid-sized businesses, charities and not-for-profits, families, and entrepreneurs across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

Here, you’ll find updates from our centennial celebrations, details on upcoming events, and highlights from 100 Stories for 100 Years—a collection of reflections that capture the evolution of our firm, our profession and the clients we’re proud to serve, often across multiple generations. This page will grow throughout the year, becoming a living archive of a landmark moment in our firm’s journey.

Dedicated to you

We consider this centennial year to be equal parts reflection and celebration. It honours the people, partnerships, and progress that have shaped our firm, while looking ahead to the future we continue to build together.

Above all, our anniversary is a thank you—to our clients, colleagues, alumni, and partners. Your trust and collaboration have made 100 years possible. We look forward to the next century of partnership, insight, and shared success.

Our History

The Origins

The earliest incarnation of Adams + Miles was a merging together of two firms in 1926. From the latter stages of the roaring 20s through the Depression and post-war period, the firm made a name for providing outstanding service and trusted advice. In the late 1940s, Bruce Adams—a former Spitfire pilot—joined the firm, assumed a partnership role and retired in the 1970s.

The Name

The firm’s name changed over the years—Linton & Masin; Wilson, Masin & McLaren; Adams, Masin & Tilley—before merging practices with Allen Miles in 2008 and becoming Adams & Miles LLP. The example our predecessors set laid the foundation for our client service experience and the core values that have guided our company culture ever since.

Practice Specialization

The firm’s operational focus has also shifted. Specialized practices were built in areas such as medical care (first led by Bruce Adams), condominium accounting from the early 2000s and the non-profit organization practice founded around the same time. We continue to build these practices and seek out new expansion opportunities to meet our clients’ evolving needs.

International Growth

An emerging international focus would lead us to join AGN International, an association of more than 200 accounting firms in 90 countries. These connections have broadened our global tax, audit and business management scope and expertise, while enabling us to build relationships with AGN International member firms located across the United States and around the world.

Serving the GTA

We changed locations over the years, moving from Sheppard Avenue East in the early 1980s to Willowdale Avenue a decade later, then relocating to Consumers Road and eventually to our current home at 2550 Victoria Park Avenue. We also have a satellite office in Mississauga to better serve our west-end clientele.

Looking Ahead

Now, with more than 60 staff and partners across the Greater Toronto Area, we continue to grow our general accounting base, as well as our specialized practices in areas such as condominiums, international tax and non-profit accounting. The welcoming of a dynamic new group of partners is only helping to enhance that growth.
